About Us

Local Stacey Gallagher opened Richmond Preschool in February 2017 and since have been gradually improving and updating the environment to make it inviting for all who visit as well as a quality, interesting and fun place for the children to learn and grow.

As a passionate early childhood professional, Stacey has been teaching and leading in early childhood settings for over 30 years. As the manager and a teacher, Stacey is committed to providing Nelson/Tasman Bay locals with a high quality environment for their children and which also supports the family.

We believe in a personal approach to early childhood education where each child is seen as an individual and programmes are developed to meet their personal learning and developmental needs and wants; where the input of families into their children’s learning is welcomed and included in our programme and where every child has equal opportunities to develop to their own maximum potential. We also believe in ensuring that children experience an environment where they can explore, try things out, be creative and learn through their play while supported by professional, engaged, happy, amazing teachers.

The central part of our philosophy is all about respect and we ensure that we use this as a basis for all that we do for and with the children. As early childhood is the most important stage of every child’s learning and development, we want to provide the best possible environment, programme, resources and teaching team for the children in our care so that they meet their potential.
