Welcome to Richmond Preschool – Learning for life

Our Preschool opened in 2017 with a goal of providing the best quality early childhood education for Pre-School aged children in Richmond. Now in 2025, we are expanding to include children aged 6 months to 2 years in our programme.

A personal approach to early childhood education

We believe in a personal approach to early childhood education so that each individual child and their family knows they are valued and welcome in our preschool. We want to know what is important to families when they place their children in our care, and we want to work with families to ensure that each child reaches their potential.

Dates: We are open all year round except for statutory public holidays and weekends. We do not close for School Holidays.

Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm

What we do differently

We are locally owned and operated and active in our own preschool, so offer that personal touch where as parents ourselves, we understand how families work, the pressures, the joys and what parents want in a preschool.

We specialize in the care and education of children aged 6 months to when they are ready to head off to school

All children will be provided with the opportunity to experience high quality learning and will develop skills for life to help take them successfully through school.

We offer a high quality transition to school programme through our Kea Club which is based on promoting the skills and abilities that local new entrant teachers have told us they are looking for in children starting schools. Our amazing teaching team work to ensure that when each child heads off to primary school, they have had every opportunity to reach their educational potential and be ‘school ready’ while in our care.

We exceed the Ministry of Education requirements for ratios of teachers-children and have a strong team of experienced teachers.

Stacey and her team have been fantastic

After signing up our 2 year old Jack to RPS we have enjoyed seeing him develop and learn new skills whilst mixing with other children. He loves the massive sandpit and play area. Stacey and her team have been fantastic and Jack is at ease when left in their care.

Anyone looking for a quality preschool for their child should definitely visit Richmond Preschool. Staff are friendly and welcoming and you can “feel” such a positive vibe when you walk in. The outdoor area you see at the front (from the road) is only one of TWO outdoor areas. Kids are happy and active – inside & out

Can’t recommend Richmond preschool enough

Can’t recommend Richmond preschool enough, they make daycare so enjoyable to the point Lucah gets disappointed when the weekend comes around. Amazing staff and love how much time they get to spend with the children and going out on trips because of the smaller environment
